History

After extensive research and by comparing a number of criteria including feasibility, effectiveness and possibility to control and observe the project, Solid decided to commence in Ayacucho, one of the poorest and most traditional regions of Peru.

In cooperation with local partners, Solid executed three projects in Ayacucho:

  • In 2004 Solid opened an access road to the mountain village of Pucara, improving access to the market of the provincial capital Ayacucho for local farmers.
  • With the help of Solid and AS Adventure, a supply system for drinking-water was installed in the village of Ccarasencca and training was given about public health.
  • Early 2005, Solid started a comprehensive project in the rural community of Sulluhuaylla.

In August 2006 Solid OPD was constituted as a Peruvian private non-profit organization in order to directly participate and contribute to achieving Solid International's goals. To read more on the activities of Solid OPD, please visit the website of Solid OPD
